Online Therapy enables you to discuss the same issues as if you were present in a face to face therapy session. The use of Online Therapy has highlighted several benefits compared to face to face sessions such as enabling you to have more flexibility and access to a therapist regardless of your location in the UK, abroad or whatever your life circumstances are that you are having to deal with for example going through an illness, surgery or recovery; childcare issues; working away from home; having a carer’s role or being housebound due to a disability
Encrypted connections: Your therapist will only use an online therapy system that is encrypted between your computer and theirs so that no one can eavesdrop on your conversation.
Confidential environment: I will always conduct your online appointments in a private, secure room maintaining the same standards of privacy and confidentiality as in personal face to face therapy.
Recording: Sessions will not be recorded by the therapist and/or the client
Individual Therapy: Please ensure that you are on your own whilst receiving therapy
Client Contact Details: You will be required to complete a contact details form that will be sent by and be returned to the therapist by email before the start of therapy sessions. The contact details include the following – name, address, contact phone number, next of kin, GP and/or other healthcare practitioner, health insurance authorization details if required as in face-to-face therapy.

It may be calling for the 15 minute chat and arranging to meet for our first session or it may be by email depending on what feels most convenient and agreeable for you. The first meeting will give you the chance to tell me what it is that is going on in your life that is causing you the difficulties you are experiencing and struggling with. Anything you want to know about the therapies that I offer and how the choice in therapy can help you. There is no obligation on you to continue therapy after this meeting.
I am a registered and accredited member of BACP (Counselling Organisational body) and BABCP (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy organisational body) and a registered member of Association of Reflexologists (AOR).I strictly adhere to their very high standards and code of professional ethics.
This is dependent on your individual needs and can be flexible but initially sessions are more helpful to be weekly (a minimum of 8 sessions) and we will review progress regularly as we proceed giving us both plenty of opportunity to explore how we are getting on .In reviewing your progress your sessions can continue on a weekly basis or be changed to fortnightly, every 3 weeks, monthly and then proceed to top-up review sessions i.e. every 2 months, 3 months etc. but it’s your choice as to how long you wish to stay in therapy.
Sessions for all the therapies I offer are 50 minutes and at the end of the session your next appointment is scheduled.
Please take time to read this carefully. It forms part of the agreement between you and your therapist, Patrizzia Ciaccio when you attend an appointment. You will be requested to sign 2 copies of the Consent and Disclosure form and be given a copy and the other copy will be kept with your records.
The Data Protection ACT 1998 requires that psychological and medical data is treated with strict confidentiality. Patrizzia Ciaccio adheres strictly to the ethical and confidential guidelines of professional practice. From the 25th May 2018 a new law called The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect. GDPR is designed to give you more choices in how you are contacted and how your personal data (name, contact details, email address and case histories) is processed.
As a sole practitioner/therapist I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a ‘data controller’. I will only contact you for consultation (mobile/landline phone numbers, emails, letters) during our agreed contracting period and I will not pass your details on to any third party. Electronic Data and Paper Records: Electronic data is password protected on the computer and involves 3 stages: - (1) The computer is encrypted and can only be opened by using a removal disc to activate access with a password, (2) password protected to gain access into electronic data and (3) password protected files including assessment reports, interim reports and discharge reports via referral agencies all require encryption passwords to open them when sent by email attachments or via an organisational electronic login portal. Confidentiality is maintained by using an allocated case code number.
The computer and any Paper records are stored in a locked filing cabinet in a locked office in my residential clinic. No other person has access to client records. The property also has a security alarm system that is activated when the premises is empty.
I confirm that I have read the Data Protection and Storage Data information and understand the above. I understand that I can evoke my consent at any time during treatment by informing the therapist in writing.
